It's something I've been wondering for a while now. What part is FEAR playing in what happens in the world?
In the sales world there is LOTS of FEAR.
Fear of the unknown...cold calls.
Fear of rejection...someone says no.
Fear of acceptance...delivering what you promise.
Makes you wonder how sales folks get thru the day!
How about trying this: Fear of Fear.
If we are afraid of being afraid, doesn't the fear of everything else go away? Either that or you shut down and become a hermit (or a homeless person).
I think there's a new FEAR in today's world of sales. I think sales folks are afraid of what they're going to hear their clients (or prospective clients) say. "Going out of business." "Haven't seen things this bad forever." "I'm not sure I'll be in business in a year." Pretty depressing stuff to have to listen to and it is making sales people FEARful of stepping out and steppping up.
Any solutions? Any ideas? How can the world survive on FEAR alone? Will we all just curl up and give up and never venture forth again? Perhaps this new FEAR of 'hearing' is too much to bear with all the other FEAR in a sales persons world.
